Passing the Chairman’s Gavel at the Northern Plains Potato Grower’s Association

Carl Hoverson passed the Chairman’s gavel to the incoming Chairman of the Northern Plains Potato Grower’s Association for 2013, Lance Hapka, at the NPPGA’s Annual Meeting February 19, 2013. Carl served as chairman of this 243-member association in 2012. Mr. Hapka is a process potato grower from Argyle, MN.


Carl’s address to the group included the importance he places on being loyal to the land, and to our country. Carl invited former long-time North Dakota Senator Duane Mutch to the podium. Mr. Mutch served under General George S. Patton in World War II.

Carl also invited current North Dakota Senator John Hoeven to the event, who updated the association about the current status of the proposed new Farm Bill.
